Zixin Zhao

Graduate Student – MSC

I completed my MSc. in Computer Science at Ontario Tech University.  My bachelor’s degree was completed in 2021 at the University of Alberta where I majored in Electrical Engineering and minored in Computer Science.  My main research interests are natural language processing, specifically in language development and language learning contexts, and human-computer interaction.  My previous projects involved apparent age approximation, web development for a language learning application, and negative language transfer.

During my spare time, I enjoy pottery, painting, sewing, and all sorts of crafty indoor activities.  Also, I previously went by the name Nicole but have now opted to go by my birth name Zixin.
